Going through my office, as I slowly work to reduce the amount of ‘stuff’ we’ll have to move, I have found a cache of some Digital Gryphon Books that I’m selling at a huge discount. Most of these are stock from Amazon; a few copies of Moving On and In Pursuit of a Dream are from Blurb. The 3 picture books are US$12 each (plus shipping) while the books of poetry and lyrics are going for US$6 each (plus shipping). Please reach out to me to confirm stock and delivery price (I will need your delivery address) as I only have a few of each title.

ShoeFiti
The practice of throwing shoes (or boots) in the air to wrap around a utility line (power, phone, cable, etc) has been described as everything from “angels feet” marking the death of a gang member to “just another prank by drunken students“. There are web-sites dedicated to discussing it, celebrating it, recording it.
I offer no opinion as to the origin or symbolism, but living in an urban area, I frequently see them. I have published this volume with over 60 images from around Columbus, Ohio covering a variety of styles and colours- from sneakers that appear brand new to some barely hanging on by the proverbial thread.

Gryphon Kaleidoscopes
30 original photographs or graphic designs spun into reflecting kaleidoscopes like that kid’s toy some of us remember.
Ten designs clearly show their floral photograph sources, while another ten are spun from photographs showing architectural details from various locations in and around Columbus, OH. The final ten are graphic designs; with some being “deceptively bright expression of pain and anger over repressed childhood trauma“.

Moving On by Jason Beilchick
Growing up gay in rural Pennsylvania, Jason adopted a ‘Goth’ appearance to survive high school. Mourning the loss of his father to cancer just as he entered his teen years, Jason wrote out much of the material collected in this volume during the 1990s.
Of his work he says “everything i have written tells a story of who i am; if you read these poems and you find they hurt your feelings that wasn’t my intention.“

Echoes of My Lips
by Michael Harding
A collection of poetry and poetic prose composed during the 1970s when the author was in his 20s. It is a reflection of the times, while also timeless commentary on life, love and sex. Of his work Michael says:
“My poetry is my internal journey. It is the honest — and sometimes painful — expression of my love. A place beyond any scorn. This book has been compiled so that it may be shared with you, my brothers. I search also, and give you joyfully what I know.”

In Pursuit of a Dream, my small chapbook of poetry from the 1980s is out of print.
Most of the contents of that book, along with 8 pages of selections written this century, are now available as This Future Is No Gentle Trophy from our Print on Demand production partner Blurb.
However, I do have a few copies of IPOAD here; some from Blurb and some from Amazon, so the specs are slightly different but the content is the same.
“Born near the end of the ‘Baby Boomer Era’, Brian grew up in rural Ontario. Living in a village of 1,000 people in the 70’s he knew he was ‘different’. Moving back to Toronto (his birthplace) as quickly after graduation as he could, he did more than his fair share to celebrate life as a gay person and promote ‘sexual rebellion’.
“But some nights he found his pen mightier than, well, his sword. He doesn’t claim to have found answers there to all the ‘big questions’; but offers these writings as notes on his journey.
I published 1 Out Of 10 Therapists: The Poetry of Romanovsky & Phillips Lyrics to mark the 30th anniversary. The title of this volume comes from their Official Tour t-shirts sold at concerts. The text (“1 out of 10 therapists recommend Romanovsky & Phillips to their patients who listen to music“) and teal, purple & orange colors reflected the spirit of hope and fun that R&P brought to their concerts. The volume includes 44 selections from 1977 to 2007.
“Romanovsky and Phillips came flying across the gender spectrum in brave form. Queer, feminist, outrageous, funny, tender. Congratulations on 30 years of daring work.“
Holly Near.
This volume is still available through Amzn, at least until I can reformat for another site.
