Bespoke Digital Gryphon Designs

(participating in Capitalism under protest)

My poetry, art & design are licensed to selected Production Partners, as I don’t have the resources nor the space to stock dozens of designs on dozens of colours of dozens of styles of apparel- to say nothing of mugs, totebags, oracle decks, printed books or wall art on canvas, metal, paper or other material.

The companies that I use offer a much larger selection of items than what I have prepared in my shops. Mostly this reflects that amount of time and energy it takes to crop or resize each file for the various item file requirements. While there a great number of items that use similar (for example, a square) production file, many items have unique proportions. Since most of my work is designed to be printed ‘full bleed’ (ie without borders) those variations must be considered.

Also, some partners have limits on the number of designs or items- or fees above a certain limit. As sales of my work through any single production partner justify that expense, I will gladly pay. But not until I can see a fair return.

That doesn’t mean that I can’t add new designs or products- just that I must be selective.

I can keep a few spots open to be used to temporarily offer a selected design/image on a specific item. Since these sites are designed to produce one-offs, that is a perfectly reasonable option. Of course, whether the effort to produce a new item-specific production file makes sense depends on pricing and if more than one is being requested.

Bespoke‘ describes anything created, altered or tailored to the desire or usage of an individual purchaser.

Although some companies use the word for everything made one at a time, the word actually refers to something created and then made for just one person. Something unique, rather than just rare. All this to say that my two apparel and general merchandise production partners do offer some fun items that I might be willing to add, on a short-term basis, for someone who is serious about ordering it. Not a guarantee that no one else might order it later- but made available because you asked.

The images below list the broad categories at each site; I haven’t previewed each and every item to determine whether I would do a custom order for them, but let me know if you are interested in a specific design/image of mine on a certain item- I’ll look at product specifications and let you know. There may be items listed below that won’t make sense for me to do.

I strongly encourage using Threadless for apparel- the colour selection is more consistent between products, as is the production files used. Also, I have the largest selection of designs uploaded there. Because Fourthwall is an aggregator rather than a single production company, shipping may be more expensive for orders with multiple product types, but the places they use mean they have a much broader selection of the non-apparel categories.
