Tonight was my last shift- this shirt is now retired. I started 6 years ago (Feb.2018) doing Lyft and GH.
I quickly decided the 1st was not for me… my car was old and small, and I had my stuff in back. After over 4 decades of Customer Service positions, I really wanted to be alone.
For a few years the food delivery was pretty good- and not just the early days of C-19. Then too many start-ups flooded the market. They all started squeezing drivers (independent contractors) to lower costs.
Economic hiccups didn’t help.
It will be a struggle to find other income due to my collection of chronic conditions but I’ve already hung on too long. The timing isn’t great- driven by changing auto insurance. See my GoFundMe campaign (EXPIRED) if you’d like to help.
